2013 was an amazing year

I haven't posted anything in awhile. Probably due to 2013 being a roller-coaster of a year.

First, I left my job working at a bakery and dove head first into the Film and Television industry. Worked on a few gigs since. Not much I can blog about that.

Second, I was signed on with Collective Digital Studios. http://collectivedigitalstudio.com They reached out to me in the beginning. They seemed to like my little Valbrook shorts enough. So that's cool.

Third, because CDS likes Valbrook, I have started animating my 42 minute pilot episode. I figured I would break it down to 5 episodes in order to produce it without killing myself. So far I have the first chapter uploaded and ready to go as soon as I feel like releasing it. If anybody would like to see it before I release it, just ask.

This month, CDS wanted me to pitch them a show for the Annoying Orange Channel and/or the Fred Channel. So of course I pitched Valbrook along with two other shows I have in the works. I admit, they aren't exactly suitable shows for those channels, but it is nice to be talks with a network. So who knows.

Really, 2013 has been a crazy year that I will never forget. On top of all the changes in my work, I asked the love of my life to marry me. She said yes! Unbelievable! 2013 was a big year!

So I had the honor of helping out my bud Steven Bell create this music video for his single "Drone." Maybe it's because I have listened to it a few hundred times but it is a really catchy tune. Hey there! 2013 is here and so is my new homepage/hub. Go on and give it a look. It showcases links to various sites and also my new demo reel. Also look out for my update IMDB page. Various of my Valbrook shorts were accepted into the database. I feel very pleased and looking forward to the rest of the year! So much more to come!

How About That...

Wow. Time sure does fly. It feels like forever since January. Of course I have been very busy lately, so I will sum up the last few months.

Began my new series of small Valbrook cartoons, "Quickies." Started making them in January and was able to create up to 12 two minute episodes by May. And I have 16 more to go. Luckily I had the help of some great people to round out the cast.

If you have not seen any of the numerous posts I have made about the "Quickies," you can watch all of them here. Go on. I can wait.

And then for Free Comic Book Day this year, Michael and I gave away free Valbrook comics and buttons to people at Criminal Records here in Atlanta. I am always honored to be allowed to participate at Criminal Records. You can read a little more about that here.

While I animate, I still find time to create some digital art. Had the chance to create the poster for the new and exciting "Magic The Gathering The Musical."
Molly Coffee approached my with an idea and I went from there. Pretty keen. The film is going to pretty flipp'n sweet too!


Last but not least, The Death Of Spider-man Motion Comic was accepted to attend MegaCon's independent film festival. MegaCon sucked big time but I have a feeling it will be presented in more conventions. More on that later.

Still, Spidey is still climbing in views. 233,000 views as of this post. It also has a few international language versions and a music tribute. And a few people even re-posted the video, trying to pass it off as their own production. Ah, gotta love the internet. Speaking of, did I mention Death of Spidey now has its own imdb page!  Does this make me a  Director!?!

Anyways. Got to catch some sleep so I can wake up early and start making more Valbrook Cartoons. If you haven't already, please like the Valbrook Facebook Page! Pretty please!

It's Been Awhile...

Luckily I have some new cartoons on the way. I have re-worked the Valbrook format into something a little more streamlined and defunct at the same time. They are little sets that last about a minute. I like to call them "Quickies." Get it?

So far I have four already animated. I know you are thinking "Yee-haw," but cool your biscuits. I can't show them just yet...

The Death of Spider-man Teaser Trailer!

So I am really happy to finally shed a little light on the last project I have been working on for the past two months. Been working with Andrew S. Bates on a motion comic based off the Death of Spider-man that just finished running a few months ago. It has been great working on something that involves a comic book that I have been reading since I was in high school. Anywho, more on the whole experience later. A Podcast with Kody Wynne

So I have been really busy this past month. Not much to show for it as of the moment but I can't wait to show what I have been doing. That also includes a podcast that just recorded with Kody Wynne for something top secret he is doing. Since that podcast is under lock down, we figured we would just record another one just so we could listen to us ramble on about our work, coffee tables, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Krystal hamburgers, and shitting in peoples mouths. Down in the Dumps

So Free Comic Book Day is not happening for Criminal Records now. It seems they couldn't find anyone who wanted to create a comic for free. Except for me that is. Anywho I am still going to print out my 10 page comic and hand it out at Criminal. Should be fun.

In the meantime, I am starting a Valbrook web-comic. More fun.

Also I am still working on my cartoons. The second episode is practically done. The third is well underway. I will have the preview up soon. Here is an image.

Updates Up late!

So I have been wurkin on this thingy do-hickey for a while. A little tired I suppose. I am hoping the next episode will be done relatively soon. I have at least 5 more I need to finish before 2012 arrives. Anywho the next toon features an interesting fellow by the name of Thom-see below

He's an interesting atheist who enjoys investigating corporate espionage and blogging about his cat Truffles. Also he has a crush on the lovely Naomi who works at Cup o' Christ.

As you know I will keep you updated when I finish it.

In other news, I sold those postcards at the show! But how could anyone resist when they were only 99¢! Ah, I am rolling in the money like Scrooge McDuck!

So the MINT gallery here in ATL likes to put on a postcard show every year for everyone and anyone to promote their respective crap... I have done it for the past two years, the last being with my drunken pin up girls. No one seemed to care about booze and boobs so I have totally lost my faith in the Art community. So this year I am going to pimp out my new web series by submitting some Valbrook Advertisements! I would invite you to the show to check 'em out but I figure the show will suck anyways.
