It's Been Awhile...

Urg. Dead-end jobs, am I right? The only thing that keeps my brain cells bouncing around is all of the crazy projects in my free time that I have lined up. Now, if I could only get paid for making garbage like the rest of the junk on TV. Hmm...

Luckily I have some new cartoons on the way. I have re-worked the Valbrook format into something a little more streamlined and defunct at the same time. They are little sets that last about a minute. I like to call them "Quickies." Get it?

So far I have four already animated. I know you are thinking "Yee-haw," but cool your biscuits. I can't show them just yet...

The Death of Spider-man Teaser Trailer!

So I am really happy to finally shed a little light on the last project I have been working on for the past two months. Been working with Andrew S. Bates on a motion comic based off the Death of Spider-man that just finished running a few months ago. It has been great working on something that involves a comic book that I have been reading since I was in high school. Anywho, more on the whole experience later. A Podcast with Kody Wynne

So I have been really busy this past month. Not much to show for it as of the moment but I can't wait to show what I have been doing. That also includes a podcast that just recorded with Kody Wynne for something top secret he is doing. Since that podcast is under lock down, we figured we would just record another one just so we could listen to us ramble on about our work, coffee tables, Malcolm Jamal Warner, Krystal hamburgers, and shitting in peoples mouths. So Free Comic Book Day is not happening for Criminal Records now. It seems they couldn't find anyone who wanted to create a comic for free. Except for me that is. Anywho I am still going to print out my 10 page comic and hand it out at Criminal. Should be fun.

In the meantime, I am starting a Valbrook web-comic. More fun.

Also I am still working on my cartoons. The second episode is practically done. The third is well underway. I will have the preview up soon. Here is an image.

So I have been wurkin on this thingy do-hickey for a while. A little tired I suppose. I am hoping the next episode will be done relatively soon. I have at least 5 more I need to finish before 2012 arrives. Anywho the next toon features an interesting fellow by the name of Thom-see below

He's an interesting atheist who enjoys investigating corporate espionage and blogging about his cat Truffles. Also he has a crush on the lovely Naomi who works at Cup o' Christ.

As you know I will keep you updated when I finish it.

In other news, I sold those postcards at the show! But how could anyone resist when they were only 99¢! Ah, I am rolling in the money like Scrooge McDuck!

So the MINT gallery here in ATL likes to put on a postcard show every year for everyone and anyone to promote their respective crap... I have done it for the past two years, the last being with my drunken pin up girls. No one seemed to care about booze and boobs so I have totally lost my faith in the Art community. So this year I am going to pimp out my new web series by submitting some Valbrook Advertisements! I would invite you to the show to check 'em out but I figure the show will suck anyways. So I am finally back working on cartoons now that DragonCon 2010 is over. And so far I think I am on track to completing the first webisode. Hopefully in a few weeks as a matter of fact. I have been trying to hammer out the details for a few months now and I think I am there. Here is a little example of the minor style change. Its subtle.

Free Comic Book Day

So this past weekend was the glorious Free Comic Book Day in case you didn't know. Here in ATL, I frequent at Criminal Records for my precious comic books every week. For FCBD, Criminal decided to call upon their local artists/writers to create a one or two page comic for a free comic they wanted to publish. So they asked me and Michael. We nailed it. Read it and weep.

So... Yeah, blogging. I haven't been up to a whole lot in a while. Well maybe that isn't true. Mostly I have been starting on things and just haven't finished any of it. Between creating logos for people who haven't replied back to me or designing aliens for people I haven't replied back to. I just can not seem to motivate myself to finish anything at the moment. Especially this cartoon I have floating around in the back of my skull. On the brightside, I have ideas for new t-shirts. I am thinking of a new series entitled "Sweet but deadly." It will be t-shirts of sweet treats such as milkshakes, pies, and ice cream blended with horrible ways to die like drowning and suffocating. It will be a clothing line marketed towards women and little girls. Yeaaay! Also I did this as a shirt. Cool huh?
